Job Description

Cross-border remittances and new business models (e.g., gig economy) require rapid, frequent payouts. We are building a Technology Platform that enables fast and ubiquitous push payments across domestic and cross-border use cases, aiming to capture significant revenue opportunities across P2P, B2SB, and B2C flows and value-added services. Built on the latest standards and tech stack, and providing open APIs, this platform will drive innovation across the ecosystem.

Our developers work across the stack and are experts in service-oriented architectures and technologies such as Java 8+, J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, MySQL, DB2, MongoDB, React JS, Cassandra, Hazelcast, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.

As we enhance our technology platforms, we are looking for a Lead Software Engineer who can participate in detailed design and development activities for this product build.

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand the payments ecosystem
• Collaborate with product owners and technical teams globally to define requirements for new features and enhancements.
• Participate in architecture definition, solution documentation, low-level design, coding, code reviews, and unit testing.
• Evaluate technical options and recommend scope and scale of effort for end-to-end solutions.
• Take ownership and lead engineering responsibilities for multiple components of the platform.
• Coordinate engineering activities across project delivery and ensure high-quality standards.
• Identify and manage risks at all stages of the project.
• Drive engineering excellence through practices like continuous integration, security, code reviews, and shift-left testing.
• Mentor and technically manage a team of talented engineers.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent advanced degree experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with 14+ years of software development experience, or Master’s with 12+ years.
• Proven experience leading complex projects involving distributed architecture and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong technical leadership skills with ability to architect, design, and build large-scale enterprise applications.
• Experience leading engineering teams of 8–12 people.
• Proficiency in Java 8+, REST APIs, JSON, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (AWS).
• Experience with Agile development, CI/CD tools (GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Sonar), and testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and performance testing.
• Passion for mentoring and team development.
• Experience in the payment's domain is a plus.
