About The Position
Job Description: Risk Analyst – Customer Success (Technical & Client-Facing)
Matrix IFS is seeking a Risk Analyst to join our Customer Success organization. This is a technical, client-facing role supporting major financial institutions, merchants, and enterprise clients in leveraging our machine learning–driven platform to detect and prevent fraud and financial crime.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, hands-on fraud/risk expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, product teams, and technical stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
1. Requirements Gathering & Analysis
- Lead discovery sessions and workshops with clients to understand fraud scenarios, risk typologies, and operational workflows.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications for implementation teams.
2. System Design & Configuration
- Partner with solution architects to configure platform components, including event flows, data mappings, rules, and detection strategies.
- Customize platform capabilities based on client data, operational models, and risk appetite.
3. Regulatory & Data Strategy
- Interpret regulatory requirements (e.g., PSD2, AML, KYC, fraud standards) and translate them into actionable system configurations.
- Optimize fraud detection strategies using data-driven insights and machine-learning outputs.
4. UAT & Client Enablement
- Lead and manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles to validate end-to-end functionality.
- Train client stakeholders on detection models, case management workflows, and platform best practices.
Typical Requirements & Skills
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Technology, Data Science, Business, or a related discipline.
- 3–5+ years of experience in fintech, fraud prevention, risk management, financial crime, or payments risk.
Technical & Functional Expertise
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with BI and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and Excel.
- Hands-on experience with fraud operations, transaction monitoring, alert analysis, and risk modeling.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts, data pipelines, and detection logic is a strong advantage.
- Ability to communicate complex technical and analytical insights clearly to clients and business partners.
